Twenty-year-old Kathleen Mitchell started riding hunters thirteen years ago. From Tampa, Florida, Kathleen will be trying out for the Region Three team for the fourth time.
Her new mount, Manfred Ask, a-seven-year old Danish gelding, is schooling Prix St. Georges and some piaffe. Kathleen has only been riding him for nine months but hopes to work on their friendship together. For the last three years Kathleen has qualified for the Region Three team with Telemann, a twenty-two year old gelding.
Telemann and Kathleen just earned their last scores for their USDF bronze medal at Arredondo Benefit Show. Kathleen also has her USDF Silver medal. Next year Kathleen plans on going to the University of Central Florida and also trying out for the Region Three Young Riders Team.
Young Rider Teams are required to raise their own funds to reach their goal. Donations for a region's NAYRC team expenses can be tax deductible.
