Lexington, KY – From September 23 through October 10, a celebration like no other took place throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. More than 60 ticketed concerts in 25 venues and 11 cities were produced by the Alltech Fortnight Festival. An additional 60 bars and restaurants throughout the Bluegrass showcased local musicians as part of Alltech’s extensive program to involve the entire state in the historic Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Even more Alltech Fortnight Festival programming was featured on the grounds of the Games at the Alltech Experience Pavilion.
While attendance numbers are not available for the local bar/restaurant tier of the Alltech Fortnight Festival or the Alltech Experience, the count is in for the ticketed events: 40,175.
“We are very pleased with the success of the Alltech Fortnight Festival and feel confident that we achieved our goal – to provide a celebratory atmosphere throughout the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and to involve the entire state in on the excitement,” said Tom Stephens, director of the Alltech Fortnight Festival.
The Alltech Fortnight Festival featured genres for all generations, from Tony Bennett and The Temptations to Nickelback and Jason Mraz. Of particular international highlight was the rare performance of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
