U.S. Young Rider Jenna Upchurch has lost her 2016 North American Junior Riders Championships and 2016 U.S. Junior Riders Championships partner, Greystoke. Jenna and Greystoke were only together since December of 2015 when she purchased the Oldenburg gelding from Martin and Kate Kuhn and quickly gained ground by competing at the 2015 NAJYRC.
In 2016, the pair once again competed at the NAJYRC, this time winning the individual test and freestyle gold and went on to win the national U.S. Junior Riders Champion title. This year the pair made the transition to Young Riders level and finished 12th at the 2017 North American Young Riders Championships in Saugerties, NY, in July.
Jenna posted on her Faceook page that - "I knew you were an angel, but I didn't know you would be needed back in heaven so soon. My sweet boy, the world never knew a more beautiful soul, and I am thankful for every moment I was able to spend with you. Rest in Peace Ozzie. Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and prayers."
Our prayers go out to Jenna!
