Meghan Kavanah Wins Trilogy Saddle “Best Seat” Award at BLM Championship

Lexington, VA – Meghan Kavanah, who rides out of Sunnyside Farm in Washington, Virginia, rode away as the winner of the Trilogy Saddle “Best Seat” Award at The 28th Annual Col. Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Championship show in Lexington, Virginia. Trilogy Saddles not only presented the “Best Seat” Award, but also served as the title sponsor for the BLM Championship held at the Virginia Horse Center.
Kavanah, who is also a trainer, took home the prestigious Trilogy Saddle “Best Seat” Award aboard her own mare Raz-Ma-Taz, a seven-year-old GOV mare out of Rodioso. “I was thrilled and astounded to win the ‘Best Seat’ Award,” Kavanah said. “Throughout the show I saw many beautiful riders who could have won the award, so I am truly honored and grateful to not only have received the award, but also the beautiful quarter sheet that accompanied it.”

Kavanah said she and Raz-Ma-Taz also rode into the winner’s circle in the Third Level Division A Championships. “It was a wonderful show and I think everyone involved was thankful to Trilogy Saddles for being the title sponsor,” she said, adding that she is pleased that her hard work with her mare is paying off. “Locally I work with Margot McAllister in Upperville, Virginia, and Benjamin Pfabe, in Millwood, Virginia. I also recently began working with Scott Hassler and I train with him whenever possible.”

Deborah Witty, President of Trilogy Saddles, congratulated Kavanah on winning the Trilogy “Best Seat” Award and said she looks forward to helping the new “Best Seat” winner with a saddle fitting. The Trilogy “Best Seat” Award is presented to the rider that best fits the following three criteria: effective secure seat; well-fitting saddle that enhances performance for horse and rider; and overall appearance on the horse.

“A good friend of mine rides in a Trilogy Saddle and when I tried it I liked it so much I made the decision to contact Trilogy for a fitting,” Kavanah said. “Although I have nice saddles, none are a perfect fit for me and my horse. I am hoping that Debbie will be able to introduce me to a Trilogy Saddle that will be the perfect match.”

Witty, a qualified saddle fitter from the Society of Master Saddlers of England, said she finds it exciting to present the “Best Seat” Award. “Our goal at Trilogy is to achieve a greater level of performance and awareness for horses and riders through education, unrivaled service, and design. We also believe in supporting our equestrian community which is why we are proud to present the ‘Best Seat’ Award,” Witty said.

Over the years, Trilogy has helped top riders such as Debbie McDonald, Shannon Peters, Adrienne Lyle, Scott and Susanne Hassler with their saddle needs. Trilogy offers three dressage saddles: The Debbie McDonald, the Amadeo, and the Verago. The Debbie McDonald Dressage Saddle series gives riders two choices: The Debbie McDonald features a flatter, more open seat, narrower seat and straighter leg. The Debbie Special is designed specifically for the petite rider. Trilogy also offers The Amadeo Dressage Saddle, the choice of riders who favor a more moderate depth of seat and twist with a generous seat bone position. The Verago Dressage Saddle is for the rider who prefers a deep seat with a narrow twist and a well-supported seat bone area.
