Aachen (GER)-The Austrian show-jumper, Markus Saurugg, claimed the victory in the first competition of the "Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup", the final jumping competition on Wednesday evening. He jumped clear in a time of 63.92 seconds with his eight-year-old mare, "Zita 94". Second place went to Janne Friederike Meyer (GER), who took 66.64 to reach the finish line with Chloe. The Swiss rider, Romain Duguet, finished third with his mare, Cacharel (0/67.25 seconds). 16 of the 31 pairs, who took part in the competition overall, jumped clear.
The "Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup" is a jumping competition (penalties/time) for seven and eight-year old horses. Each rider is allowed to enter one horse. The second competition in this Cup will be held on Friday, August 21st and the Final starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 22nd. According to the FEI regulations, the organiser is obliged to offer accompanying competitions in addition to the European Championship competitions in the course of a Championships event. This is why in addition to the "Youngsters Tour", four other CSI competitions are being staged in the scope of the FEI European Championships Aachen 2015.
