Rotterdam, June 24rd 2012– After a thrilling jump off with no less than 20 riders, the Dutch rider Marc Houtzager made the fastest double clear round with his 12 years old Dutch horse Sterrehof’s Tamino. He was only 0.04 seconds faster than Laura Kraut (USA) with Cedric. Simon Delestre (FRA) was third with Napoli Du Ry. This Grand Prix completed five days of great equestrian sports in Rotterdam.
According to the winner a jump off with many competitors was just related to having extremely good riders, very good horses and great footing. Only 6 riders came around clear in the jump off. For Sterrehof’s Tamino this was only the first Grand Prix during this outdoor season. “My horse is in very good shape at this moment, he was ready to compete!”
President of the CHIO Rotterdam, Frans Lavooij, concluded that great sports, great horses and the support for now and for the future from some great sponsors made this 64th CHIO Rotterdam to a success. “Based on this success I’m very confident in the future of our event, starting with the 65th show next year!”
