Medical Surgical options are available when purchasing a mortality policy for your horse. There are several options and limits to choose from. This coverage is provided for clients as a means to help with the costly expenses of medical surgical treatments due to accident, sickness or injury.

**The below rates will be in effect on all new policies bound on/after January 1, 2017

Emergency Colic Surgery Expense  **This is now included on all eligible policies
Emergency Colic Surgery covers the cost for emergency colic surgery and is available for horses age 30 days through 18 years, with an insured value of $2,500 or greater and with no prior history of colic/gastrointestinal disturbances.  
$2,500 limit per horse, per policy term

• $0 deductible
• $0 premium – automatically included for all eligible horses.

$5,000 limit per horse, per policy term **The state of FL has not yet approved this plan.
• $0 deductible available for an additional premium of $50.

Surgical Only Coverage – Premium is fully earned
For a “covered animal” we will pay “necessary, reasonable and customary veterinary fees” incurred by you as a direct result of “surgical treatment” and “miscellaneous extras” as defined and necessitated by a covered “accident, illness, injury, disease, or disability”. Available for horses 31 days to 18 years old.

$5,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $2,500 per horse required
• $50 deductible (no copay)
• $205 additional premium per horse, per year

$10,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $2,500 per horse required
• $50 deductible (no copay)
• $270 additional premium per horse, per year

Medical/Surgical
Medical/Surgical coverage will cover the cost for medical/surgical treatments due to accidents, illness, injury, disease or disability. Available for horses 31 days to 18 years old. We provide the following limits:

Approved in all states except CA, FL, & PA & D.C.

$5,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $5,000 per horse required
• $375 deductible & 20% co-pay
• $369 additional premium per horse, per year

$10,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $10,000 per horse required
• $500 deductible & 20% co-pay
• $470 additional premium per horse, per year

For states CA, PA & D.C. ONLY
$5,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $5,000 per horse required
• $375 deductible & 20% co-pay
• $335 additional premium per horse, per year

$10,000 Limit  – minimum insured value of $10,000 per horse required
• $500 deductible & 20% co-pay
• $426 additional premium per horse, per year

For the state of FL ONLY
$5,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $5,000 per horse required
• $375 deductible and a co-pay of 25% on the first $2,000 loss
• $298 additional premium per horse, per year

$10,000 Limit – minimum insured value of $10,000 per horse required
• $500 deductible and a co-pay of 25% on the first $2,000 loss
• $338 additional premium per horse, per year
