Several show-jumping nations have the chance to qualify for the Olympic Games in London at the CHIO Aachen 2011!
There’s going to be a touch of the Olympics at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2011. On Soers Sunday, riders from Eastern Europe, Asia and Australia will be battling it out to qualify for London 2012.
Over 30 nations of the regional groups C and G of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) are eligible to compete. “Particularly those athletes, who don’t come from the classical equestrian sport nations, have shown in the past that they are also capable of great performances,” commented Show Director, Frank Kemperman, who is thus expecting top class jumping sport on July 10th during the Soers Sunday event.
Every year tens of thousands of visitors attend this Open Day at the showgrounds – an opportunity to experience an attractive show programme with no admission fee, which is going to be further enhanced this year by the exciting jumping competition.
The first rider will enter the show ring in the Driving Stadium at 1 pm, the competition comprises of two rounds. The winning individual rider and the most successful nation will qualify for the Olympic Games 2012 in London, the best individual rider will also receive a wild card for the CHIO Aachen 2011.
