It’s a special year for Live Oak International as the Combined Driving event celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016. But it’s not the only bit of equine event history in 2016. This year also marks the inclusion of the Show Jumping Grand Prix as part of the inaugural season of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League.
The show now boasts being the largest equine event of its kind in the country and counts among its competitors some of the leading drivers, riders, trainers, coaches and owners from Europe and North America in both disciplines.
Over the years, the show’s reputation has grown and now hosts national championships and regularly is used for placement on the U.S. Combined Driving Team. The farm, Live Oak Plantation, offers a beautiful setting for the show. For more than 40 years, Live Oak Plantation has been a leading thoroughbred racing operation providing breeding, foaling, training and racing. Its distinctive silks of white with red dots and black sleeves continue to enjoy remarkable success nationwide from The Breeders’ Cup to Eclipse Awards and many grade one wins.
Live Oak International was already recognized as a fun, well-managed show for the Driving community with a strong focus on hospitality for its competitors. With the addition of Show Jumping, a ringside hospitality area was introduced and sold out. Owners, competitors, and sponsors enjoyed two beautiful afternoons of ringside hospitality. Every rider that entered the ring saluted event sponsors.
