The first-ever Legacy Reining Breeders Sale, scheduled for October 21 at Green Valley Farm in Aubrey, Texas, will feature a superior selection of proven broodmares and one of the finest bred sets of yearlings ever assembled.
The production sale is a cooperative effort between McQuay Stables, Green Valley Farms, Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses and Kyle Ranch, as well as guest consigners Carol Rose Ranch, Bob Loomis Quarter Horses, and Scott McCutcheon Reining Horses.
National Reining Horse Association Million Dollar Rider, Tim McQuay, one of the sale organizers, commented. "This sale will present a great selection of high-quality horses. There are broodmares that are own daughters of Mr Gunsmoke, Docs Tom Tucker, Grays Starlight, Miss N Cash, Great Pine, Smart Chic Olena, Hollywood Dun It, Topsail Whiz, Topsail Cody, Surprise Enterprise and others and all the foals are eligible for the National Reining Breeders Classic."
Leading the list of consignments is Boggies Last Jac, dam of National Reining Breeders Classic Champion Mr Boomerjac. Another proven broodmare is Friday Nite Chick, producer of 2000 NRHA Non Pro Futurity Champion Dun It By Chick.
Also consigned to the Legacy Sale is Smart China Chic, a Smart Chic Olena daughter, that was an NRHA Futurity Finalist and USET Finalist. She sells in foal to Hollywood Dun It. Overdrawn Chic, a full sister to USET Pro Am Gold Medal Winner and National Reining Breeders Classic Non Pro Champion Hesa Smart Chic, also sells.
McQuay commented, "We've been planning this sale since last year and we want it to be an annual event. The Legacy Reining Breeders Sale is a consolidation of top breeders who want to market their horses to the public.
An added bonus for serious horse shoppers is that they can make two quality horse sales in one weekend. The Polo Ranch Sale, in nearby Marietta, Oklahoma, takes place on Saturday, with the Legacy Sale on Sunday.
