Lake Placid, New York - Laura Chapot started the third week of the 46th annual Lake Placid Horse Shows, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, the same way she ended Week 2, standing in the winner's circle at the North Elba Show Grounds.
Chapot, who the $75,000 Equine Insurance Services/Great American Grand Prix to culminate the second week's I Love New York Horse Show, won both of Tuesday's featured competitions at the Adirondack Horse Show -- the $5,000 Lake Placid CVB 1.40m Power and Speed Class and the $1,500 Beacon Hill Horse Transportation 1.35m Jumper Class.
In the 1.40m class, Chapot claimed the win on Zealous by covering both sections of the course fault-free and completing the speed section in the fastest time of 35.270 seconds. She also placed third on Bradberry with a time of 36.227 seconds and fourth on Shooting Star with a time of 37.108 seconds. Mattias Tromp finished in second place with a time of 35.992 seconds on KM Whatever RV.
In the 1.35m jump-off class, Chapot also took three of the top four places. She won the class on Umberto with a clean jump-off ride in 29.200 seconds. She finished second with a clean jump-off ride in 30.652 seconds on Castellana and fourth with four jump-off faults and a time of 30.747 seconds on Bec Hugo. Third place went to Jonathan McCrea who had a clean jump-off ride in 32.150 seconds on Captain Jack.
