Kentucky Village at Western States Horse Expo Offers Taste of WEG

Lexington, KY – On June 17, the clock counting down to the world’s most celebrated and prestigious equestrian championships – the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games – will tick past the 100 day mark. One can get a preview of the excitement at this week’s Western States Horse Expo at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA, from June 11 -13.

An Alltech Kentucky Village will entreat its visitors to journey through the Bluegrass in late September by providing them with a literal taste of Kentucky as they enjoy the culinary delights, sights, and sounds of the Commonwealth. The experience will be further enhanced by a sneak preview of the excitement as a special Alltech International Equestrian Extravaganza on the evening of June 12 showcases expert demonstrations of the eight FEI disciplines that will comprise the Alltech FEI Games.

After getting a taste of what’s soon to gallop into the Bluegrass region, Western States attendees will have the opportunity to make their plans to experience it all in person. Representatives from Alltech and Kentucky’s tourism and hospitality industries will be on hand to assist with the ticketing process and offer guidance regarding the many options available to spectators.

The Alltech FEI Games, will take place in Lexington, KY, USA, from September 25 – October 10 and will define a new chapter in the history of the World Equestrian Games as the first time the Games have been held outside of Europe and the first time that all competition events will be held at one location – the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park.  The 16-day competition involving more than 800 riding competitors and 800 horses from 60 countries is expected to be attended by as many as 600,000 spectators and viewed on television by an international audience exceeding 460 million people

The World Equestrian Games are held every four years like the Olympics and are the world championships for the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). Tickets  have already been sold to buyers in all 50 U.S. states and 50 countries.
