Katie Robinson and Rock Steady Wins During WEF VI

East Aurora, NY and Wellington, FL - February 21, 2012 - Katie Robinson stole the show during the World Champion Hunter Week with her talented mount Rock Steady at the Winter Equestrian Festival. Earning excellent ribbons in their division, Robinson and Rock Steady won the Amateur-Owner 35 & Over Hunter Championship to qualify for the WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular, where they eventually placed tenth for Deeridge Farm.

Robinson kicked off the week with a victory in the Amateur-Owner 35 & Over Handy Hunter round with Rock Steady. The pair then went on to place second in the stake round, and was eventually awarded the division's championship title. "I definitely felt extra pressure when we were trying to qualifying, because I really wanted to win," explained Robinson. "Rock Steady was great in the first rounds and just super all weekend long."

The tricolor award also earned them a spot in Saturday night's WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular, competing under the lights in the International Area. Rock Steady quickly rose to the occasion, earning a score of 84.370 for their first round. They advanced to the second round where they received another high score of 85.930, eventually placing tenth overall.

"I thought he was going to be more nervous than he was under the lights, but it didn't seem to bother him and he was very brave Saturday night," expressed Robinson. "I was so thrilled to hear my scores after the first round. He got a little tired by time we got to the second round, but he worked very hard for me all weekend long so I was really pleased with the results."

The Jacobs Family and Deeridge Farm will continue to compete throughout the Winter Equestrian Festival, vying for top honors against the world's best horse and rider combinations.
