Wellington, FL - Eleven-year-old Friesian stallion Morris (Reitse 272 x Hestcher) is big, black, beautiful, and now an Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award recipient. Owned by Willem Helema and shown and groomed to perfection by Karin Davis of Ontario, Canada, Morris received the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award by standing out from the crowd at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida. “What a great way to start the show for us. It’s just fantastic,” Davis said while accepting her commemorative award and prize basket, replete with Omega Alpha equine supplements and health products from Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

I work so hard to have him in condition for this sport. It’s a huge compliment to be recognized,” added Davis, who competed the stallion at FEI Prix St. Georges level while in Wellington at the largest and richest dressage show in the world.

The pair began working together when Morris was a green-broke five year-old who, trainer and rider added, “couldn’t do anything at all.” Today, the dressage duo are competing at Prix St Georges and Intermediate-1, most recently earning consistent scores in the mid 60s from Wellington’s international judges.

“We’ve come a long way. He’s so sweet and I’ve never ridden a horse that tries so hard. You know the old saying, ‘Success is 97% determination and 3% ability?’ He tries so hard to get it right. That’s what I love most about him!”
The 16.1 black stallion’s shimmering coat and rich muscling helped Omega Alpha fall in love with him, too, and reward his team for building a beautiful horse from the inside out.

“Our program is just good, healthy food,” said Davis. “Straight grain and hay. I don’t add much. I’m very excited to get this award and Omega Alpha’s fantastic products. It’s such a wonderful compliment and it’s so very kind of Omega Alpha to give such a great award. It’s rewarding to know that others think Morris looks as handsome and healthy as I try to keep him. Thank you so much,” Davis expressed as she accepted the award.
