Jordan Donnelly Wins NRHA Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 at NRBC

There were 27 entries in the Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 National Reining Horse Association Ancillary class at the National Reining Breeders Classic. When the last entry had left the arena, the title of Champion went to Jordan Donnelly, of Aubrey, Texas, on Smokems Whiz.

"She did really well today. She was honest and trustworthy and I didn't have any problems," noted Donnelly, who marked a 146.5 to win $625.

Jordan's mother, Kim Ferguson, purchased Smokems Whiz last year and the mare was trained as a cow horse. "She's turned out to be a really good reiner," noted Donnelly. "She's very quick-footed and that is awesome to me."

Finishing as Co-Reserve Champion in the NRHA Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 was Jessicah Torpey on Sheza Chic Olena and Lindsey McCutcheon with Mega Beat. Both scored a 144.5 and won $400. Torpey and McCutcheon were also tied for the Championship of the Novice Horse Non Pro Level 1, which was run concurrently, and took home an additional $279.

The NRHA Ancillary classes continue Thursday, April 21, and run through Sunday, April 24. The entire NRBC is webcast free, thanks to Waltenberry Productions. To access the webcast, visit www.nrbc.com.

The NRBC also features a full-slate of National Reining Horse Association-approved classes, which run in the East Arena while the Classic is held in the Coliseum.
