Lake Placid, New York - Margie Engle of Wellington, FL. rode Hidden Creek's Pamina L to victory in the J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines Speed Stake at the 41st Annual Lake Placid Horse Show. Engle turned in a time of 55.715 seconds to claim the victory.
Twenty nine horses tried the twelve-jump, one-round course at the North Elba Showgrounds. Riding seventeenth in the order, Engle turned in the fastest time to claim the win. Placing second with a time of 55.719 seconds on Bradberry, was Laura Chapot. Third place went to Darragh Kenny who had a time of 57. 283 seconds on Tango.
The Lake Placid Horse Show concludes Sunday with the main event of the week, the $75,000 Hermès Grand Prix CSI 2* for the Whitney Perpetual Challenge Trophy. Following an off day on Monday, the 33rd Annual I Love New York Horse Show follows at the same site and continues through Sunday, July 11. The I Love New York Horse Show is highlighted by the $75,000 Le Grand Prix Hermès CSI 2* on Saturday, July 10. Following the $75,000 Le Grand Prix Hermès CSI 2*, the Richard and Diana Feldman Perpetual Challenge Trophy for Excellence will be awarded to the rider who has won the most combined prize money in Lake Placid's two Grand Prix.
