Ivory Riches Clocks 330 Yard World Record Time at Arapahoe

A world record for Quarter Horses was set at Arapahoe Park in Aurora, CO, on Memorial Day with Ivory Riches clocking 15.92 seconds for 330 yards in her maiden victory in just her second career start. The time broke the previous record of 15.95 seconds set by Valiant War Hero at Sunland Park in New Mexico earlier this year.

Ivory Riches had put together strong workouts prior to her debut at Remington Park in Oklahoma last month but was hampered after hopping at the start.  However with a clean break from the middle of the 10-horse maiden field on Monday at Arapahoe, Ivory Riches and jockey Vince Guerra rocketed to the world-record victory.

The 2-year-old brown filly sired by Ivory James and out of Rare Encore is owned by Vaughn Cook and trained by John Hammes.

The world record requires verification by the American Quarter Horse Association.
