International Show Jumping of Saint-Lô - 13 to 16 October 2011

Normandy, France - This year, the traditional International Show Jumping of Saint-Lô opens its doors with more and more competitors from all over the world. 26 countries are represented in the CSI 1 star and the CSI 3 stars, with 159 riders. Saint-Lô is one the most important indoor competitions of the European Autumn-Winter season and constitutes the right way to prepare the FEI World Cup leg of Lyon. That's why many foreign top riders decided to visit Normandy!

Represented nations: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Greece, Hongkong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arabian Emirates , USA, Venezuela. 350 horses, 159 riders, 26 nations!!!!!

Thursday 13 October: France 1 – Spain 1

The event started today with the two first classes of the CSI 1 star. The opening class has been won by the French rider Sylvain Montigny with Mondeenne du Lys SF, in front of almost his neighbour Emmanuel Vincent, usually the best when it's about the clock. Emmanuel Vincent finished at the 2nd and 3rd place riding Infante des Chenes and Why Not Champsblanc. The best foreign rider was Eduardo Blanco (picture), for Spain, 6th with Oxala de Batailley SF.

Eduardo has been the best in form today in the 1 star by adding a victory in the big class riding Queni Star SF. Only few hundredth of seconds separated him from Scottish Jemma Kirk (GBR), 2nd with Wexford, her European Young Rider Championships' horse. The first French rider was Fabrice Paris who rode his home-bred mare Lavande des Forêts SF.
