International Horse Sport Palm Beach Hosts Successful Dressage Premier

In the midst of the tropical equestrian community which is dominated by Dressage, the 2011 season at The Horse Park at Equestrian Estates debuted the changes and upgrades developers have been working on over the past eight months. Bringing to southeastern Florida yet another option meeting the rising number of horses and demand for Dressage shows, The International Horse Sport Palm Beach is a collaboration with long time supporters of Dressage, Walter and Maryanne McPhail, the talents of the high performance riders Lars Petersen and Ed Borresson and the management skills of Noreen O’Sullivan and John Flanagan. The premier competition held January 29-30, in a perfect South Florida weather, was met with excitement and positive reviews, a welcome party, prizes and product giveaways for class winners, with a clear vision of what’s to come.

A new layout and new arena which is planned to be under cover in the future is located directly in front of the comfortable “Beer Garden” donated by Chris Sander and Melissa Richards of Altersgait Farm, with furniture donated by Idlewild. Gold Presenting Sponsor International Polo Club Palm Beach adds amenities and catering, and there is on display a beautiful Shadow Trailer which will be presented at the Dressage at Equestrian Estates from a draw of all competitors who have competed in the winter series. Another exciting series, Blue Hors Invitational and Series Final "Championship", began this weekend, with scores to accumulate throughout the season, culminating in the Blue Hors Cup Championship to be held in April at Dressage at Equestrian Estates. One of the first sponsors to step up to the plate was Back on Track distributing over $10,000 in product giveaways. The Scheleese PSG Challenge will present a saddle to the winner of the CDI Prix St. George from four designated south Florida shows. In addition with the ShoClothes free giveaway at each CDI, and the Trilogy Saddle “Best Seat” Award, competitors who come to south Florida for the winter have much more than great weather, quality show grounds and management to look forward to in 2011.
