International 3-Day Event of Lignières-en-Berry (France)

Michael Jung (GER) and Jonelle Richards (NZL) in Good Shape - After the dressage test, Michael Jung (GER) is in the lead of the CCI 2 stars...and this is really not a surprise! But the Kiwi's seem to be stronger than ever in Lignières, with Jonelle Richards at the 1st place in the CIC 1 star and Tim Price ranking his two mounts at the 3rd and 6th places in the CCI 2 stars.

CCI2*: One-two for Michael Jung (GER)
Of course, everybody was waiting for his performance. Michael Jung (GER) came in Lignières with three of his best mounts and it was not just for fun! Already in the lead yesterday evening with River of Joy, he improved his own score of 2 points riding Leopin, and ranked his third horse, Vortex, at the 6th place. But there is another strong man here: Tim Price (NZL). Another competitive new zealander rider who hopes to be « in the money » on Sunday! Tim lays on 3rd place with Vortex and 6th with Ringwood Sky Boy. The best French rider is – again ! - Nicolas Touzaint, riding Midnightsong de Theol (4th), not far from Mathieu Lemoine (8th). Next test: cross country on Saturday afternoon (2:00pm-6:00pm).

CIC1*: Jonelle Richards (NZL) Takes the Lead
She is one of the most faithful rider to the show. And if her performances on the previous editions were not what she has always expected, Jonelle Richards took a good option on the top ranking. After the 81 dressage tests of this CIC 1 star, the new zealander rider is the only one to score under 40 points. With her elegant Short Black, she took the lead just in front of French n°1 Nicolas Touzaint, 2nd riding his grey Zonlicht. Jonelle and Nicolas made Lara de Liedekerke (BEL), leader yesterday evening, losing two places (3rd). 9 nations are represented among the first 20 riders. Lara de Liedekerke (BEL) and Pippa Funnell (GBR) are the two only riders with two horses in this top 20. Next test: show jumping on Saturday morning 9:00am.
