Ocala, FL – The weather was challenging at the “World Of The Horse Spectacular” demonstration held during the $50,000 Grand Prix at Horseshows in the Sun(HITS) Ocala, but the show must go on – and it did! Two magnificent Interagro Lusitanos, along with their international rider and trainer Cherri Reiber, presented a thrilling tandem demonstration at the event that showcased the magnificent Lusitano breed and their talent for performing upper level dressage movements.
“It was stormy and the weather was challenging, but just as we were about to present our tandem driving it stopped raining for about 15 minutes and we went and the audience was thrilled. We were certainly a hit,” Reiber said. “We were invited to the ‘World Of The Horse Spectacular’ by Galopando TV, and the event was simulcast on their station.”
Reiber is an FEI level dressage trainer and rider who trained both horses, Zerbino Interagro and Vistor Interagro, to do the tandem driving. Reiber’s crowd-pleasing tandem driving features Reiber riding Zerbino while driving Vistor in front, showing off upper level movements including the piaffe, passage, flying changes and the spectacular Spanish walk. “Cherri’s demonstration is always a huge crowd pleaser and certainly generates a lot of excitement about the Lusitano breed,” said Cecilia Gonzaga, Manager of Interagro Lusitanos in Brazil. “We bred both Zerbino Interagro and Vistor Interagro and are thrilled with their success. They are excellent ambassadors for the breed.”
Reiber, who is based out of Southwest Ranches, Florida, and competes on the Wellington show circuit said that although numerous breeds were represented, the two Lusitanos attracted a crowd. “Zerbino and Vistor impressed the audience, the riders waiting to compete in the grand prix and the other exhibitors,” she said. “The Lusitano breed is very talented, and this demonstration showed some of what has made them such popular horses.”
The Interagro horse is a modern Lusitano, a horse that excels in the traditional equestrian disciplines, from dressage and driving to jumping and working equitation. Interagro is committed to preserving the pure bloodlines of the Lusitano breed and the farm in Brazil is home to approximately 800 horses including 150 exceptional broodmares and 25 top quality stallions. Interagro bloodlines include some of the most respected bloodlines in the breed including Farao (JHC), Nirvana Interagro, Ofensor (MV), Xique-Xique (CI) and Yacht (SA).
Interagro Lusitanos also offers private buying trips to their Brazilian farm, where visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at Interagro and their selection of Lusitanos that will be available in the upcoming 2012 Lusitano Collection International Horse Auction held at the farm. “A trip to Interagro in Brazil is the chance to experience the culture and lifestyle of Brazil while hopefully also taking home an exceptional Lusitano,” Gonzaga said.
