Saugerties, NY – HITS, Inc. and HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports, are pleased to announce that as a follow-up to the highly popular 2011 Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix program, which originally aired on HRTV October 27, 2011, they will once again join forces with A Good Show (AGS) to air two more show jumping programs in March.
"Our initial involvement with HITS’ 2011 Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix was successful and well-received," said Scott Daruty, President of HRTV. "HRTV's commitment to present top-quality equestrian programming will continue to build on that relationship with HITS by offering viewers two outstanding, renowned events from the Winter/Spring season – the [$200,000] Lamborghini and [$100,000 Sullivan GMC Truck] Ocala Grand Prix."
This time around, HRTV and AGS will travel to the HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, California to showcase the pinnacle of the six-week season – the $200,000 Lamborghini Grand Prix of the Desert, presented by Lamborghini of Newport Beach, Sunday, March 11. Aside from the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, the Lamborghini Grand Prix is the second largest purse offered by HITS and attracts the best North American and International equestrians each year. In addition to offering a large cash payout to the top 12 finishers, the $200,000 Lamborghini Grand Prix of the Desert, presented by Lamborghini of Newport Beach, serves as a crucial qualifier for this year’s Pfizer Million and the winner of the class is historically propelled to the top of the Pfizer Million Rider Rankings thanks to its coveted $60,000 first-place check.
After this year’s HITS Desert Circuit champions are crowned, the focus will shift east to the $100,000 Sullivan GMC Truck Grand Prix, presented by Great American Insurance Group, Sunday, March 18 at HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala, Florida. The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit is the longest-running HITS Circuit and the spark that ignited the company’s legacy as a leader in American show jumping. Like the Lamborghini class and all HITS Grand Prix, the $100,000 Sullivan GMC Truck Grand Prix, presented by Great American Insurance Group, is also a qualifier for the Pfizer Million. The class will attract equestrians from all corners of the globe, including 2011 Pfizer Million Champion Andre Thieme of Germany, who uses the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit as his home-base for qualifying for the world’s richest Grand Prix.
“The success of the Pfizer Million broadcast helped to pave the way for the continuation of this series,” said Tom Struzzieri, HITS President and CEO. “It’s a natural follow up to feature these two events from our winter circuits since they are among the top four qualifying opportunities for the Pfizer Million. Many of the riders we’ll see in September will take part in these two Grand Prix so these shows will provide audience with an exciting preview of what’s to come!”
Both HRTV and HITS will webcast these two Grand Prix classes live and HRTV will air the two HITS programs on their horse sports network with dates and times to be determined soon.
