Horses Take Over the Oncenter Complex for the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament

Syracuse, NY - The Oncenter Complex in downtown Syracuse once again has been transformed into a world class horse show and shopping venue in a family friendly environment.  This year, forty-five vendors from across the country offering some of the finest equestrian gear, jewelry, and fine art have arrived to set-up shop in the two floors of the Equestrian Expo.

Exhibitions are set up throughout the complex with a variety of free activities scheduled during the week including a Career and College Fair, the 2nd Annual I Love New York Art Show, a new sand box adjacent to the very popular Kid's Corral, a Parade of Breeds and a special exhibit featuring the Cazenovia College's miniature horses.

While the horses have always exercised in the warm-up ring in the complex before moving to competition, spectators will have a new treat this year as over 100 horses also will be living inside the Oncenter this week.  People can view the horses as they relax in their environment and stalls before they move to the War Memorial.

This year to add to the excitement, Atlas Fence is hosting a free competition for the local riders from Central NY. Thirty-eight of the  talented riders from the area will vie for prestige and prizes in the same arena that later in the week will have some of the top riders in the world compete in the $100,000 Detwiler Fenton FEI World Cup Qualifier of Syracuse presented by G&C Farm .  With many free events and entertainment as well as the featured ticketed events on the weekend, the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament welcomes all to come down and enjoy this event.

The Tournament, which runs from November 2nd - to November 7th also includes national and junior/amateur-owner jumpers as well as junior, amateur-owner, green and regular hunter divisions, along with the ASPCA Maclay National Championship in equitation.  In addition to the World Cup Qualifier, other highlights of the show  include the $80,000 Sporthorse Cup presented by Copernicus Stables, the $60,000 Spy Coast Farm High Junior/Amateur- Owner Jumper Championship and the NEW $50,000 Hunter Classic presented in honor of Charlie Weaver.

Competition tickets are on sale for the Syracuse Invitational through the Oncenter Box Office (315-435-2121) and Ticketmaster. There is a comprehensive schedule of events, activities and competitions for the entire family throughout the week and most of them are FREE.  For a full list of events and updates to the schedules visit
