Horse Radio Network & US Para-Equestrian Association Present First Ever Para-Webathon

Two-hour Live Web Televised Event to Raise Money for Para-Equestrians on their Journey to the World Equestrian Games

Lexington, KY  - The first ever Para-Webathon to raise money and provide awareness for the United States Para-Equestrian team who are competing at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be held on June 8, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) on multiple websites. All monies will be channeled through the United States Para Equestrian Association (USPEA) to offset the costs of the ten United States Para-Athletes and their horses competing in the 2010 World Equestrian Games.  The presenting sponsors are the Horse Radio Network, the United States Para-Equestrian Association (USPEA).

The ParaWebathon will be a live video event streamed to websites all over the horse world using web video technology that will make it easy for affiliate websites to promote and carry this first ever "Jerry Lewis like" telethon.  A simple embed code is provided to enable anyone to carry the show and interested websites are encouraged to participate. Websites interested in participating in this event will be able to easily place the live streaming code on their websites.  Websites should promote the event ahead of time and encourage their visitors to go to their websites to watch the event.

The hosts will be Glenn the Geek and Samantha Clark from the 2010 Radio Show sponsored by SUCCEED, and Para-Equestrian, Susan Treabess.  Alltech has kindly donated its studio and technical expertise to host this live event from its studio in Nicholasville, Kentucky, USA.  We will highlight the stories of these inspirational athletes who are aiming to compete at their first World Equestrian Games.

The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be the first WEG to offer Para-Equestrian competition.  This is a very exciting addition that brings Para-Equestrian to the forefront of the horse world.  Unfortunately, the Para teams do not have the resources or sponsors that the other disciplines enjoy.  Most of the competitors will have to raise their own funds to attend the games this year in Kentucky.  For the American team alone this can amount to up to $20,000 per competitor.

There are different ways to help promote the ParaWebathon:

  • By donating during the Webathon on June 8, 2010;
  • By carrying the live video on June 8, 2010, it's free and easy, we will send you the code;
  • By promoting this event throughout all your social media and mailing lists

More information will shortly be added to the Horse Radio Network website - www.horseradionetwork.com  Telephone number for calling in to the Para-Webathon will be available on the website.
