HITS Signs Motown Legends The Temptations to Headline Entertainment at Pfizer Million Weekend

Saugerties, NY -  HITS, Inc., in association with the Bardavon, is excited to announce that legendary Motown group The Temptations will perform a live concert immediately following the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix on Sunday, September 11, as the conclusion to a remarkable and historic weekend of hunter/jumper show jumping at HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, New York. Between the Pfizer Million and the all-new Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final, HITS will award a record-breaking $1.5 million in prize money on Sunday alone, making it the richest day ever in show jumping!

The Temptations are the quintessential vocal group that defined a generation and a genre of music that has paved the way for countless artists today. This multi-GRAMMY® Award winning vocal group first achieved fame as one of the most successful acts to record for Motown Records. The group's expansive five-decade repertoire includes R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, soul, and adult contemporary. The HITS-on-the-Hudson VIII horse show will begin on Wednesday, September 7 with a full week of competition and special events for exhibitors and spectators alike. The Pfizer Million Weekend will kick-off on Friday afternoon with the $30,000 Pfizer Million Wild Card Grand Prix, which will provide an opportunity for the winner, if not already qualified, to compete in Sunday’s Pfizer Million.

On Saturday afternoon the first two rounds of the much-anticipated Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final will highlight the schedule. The top 25 riders from Saturday will return on Sunday at 11am to open the day’s competition in the Strongid® C 2X Stadium with the final two rounds of the Diamond Mills Hunter Prix. After the Diamond Mills Hunter Prix Champion is crowned, the course will be set for the Pfizer Million which will get underway at 2pm after a brief opening ceremony. The top 40 qualified High-Performance riders and five manager’s picks will duel it out for this year’s Pfizer Million title and the coveted $350,000 first-place check.

Following the awards ceremony for the Pfizer Million, The Temptations will take the stage for a 90-minute concert that will have fans dancing and singing along to some of the most admired songs in the history of pop music.

Competitors who show at HITS-on-the-Hudson VIII (September 7-11) will receive free passes for all three events. A limited number of Special VIP Packages are also available, and include fabulous amenities like seating for eight, delicious meals and prime seating for all four rounds of the Diamond Mills Hunter Prix and the Pfizer Million. General admission tickets go on sale May 12 at the Bardavon, UPAC, and HITS box offices and at Ticketmaster. Tickets are $20 in advance for general admission festival seating and $25 at the gate, which includes admission to the Diamond Mills Hunter Prix and the Pfizer Million, as well as The Temptations concert. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
