West Palm Beach, FL – Highlife Farms will offer horse enthusiasts an outstanding collection of performance horses, young stallion prospects, dressage and hunter/jumper prospects and German Riding Ponies during their 2010 Diamond Select Sale, March 28th at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center. The “European style” horse auction will begin at 2 pm with a stallion demonstration, followed by auctioneer Jeff Marsh, of Eurosport Auctions Ltd, leading the bidding at 3 pm.
“We’ve hand picked the most exceptional offspring from our breeding program and are proud to showcase them at our Diamond Select Sale,” said Joan Sims, who owns Highlife Farms with her husband Kenny. “Immediately following the sale, we are inviting everyone to celebrate with us in the covered arena under the lights at the after party. We will all enjoy beverages and entertainment with the ultimate party band, Wings of Sound. It will be a great ending to a spectacular event.”
The auction will begin with a stallion presentation with Dressage Olympians Lisa Wilcox and Robert Dover, special guest and International Trainer Ernst Hoyos and special guest rider FEI trainer Jan Brons. “Joining us for the jumping demonstration is George Morris, the current chef d’equipe for the show jumping team. He will provide commentary for Olympian Lauren Hough who will be riding the Grand Prix Oldenburg stallion Prezioso OLD,” Sims said.
Wilcox, who shows Highlife Farms’ Der Euro OLD and Der Dollar, is the head trainer at Highlife Farms. “By combining dressage and jumping lines, Highlife Farms has produced offspring with exceptional movement and a strong bone structure, as well as the sensitivity I look for in my competition horses,” Wilcox said. “Joan realizes that the key to her success has been her selection of top quality sport horses with exceptional pedigrees for her foundation mares. Bloodlines are from Oldenburger, Holsteiner, Hannoverian and Westphalen, many of which have earned elite status with the German Oldenburg Verband.”
Bidding will begin at 3 pm and all qualified and registered bidders will be entered into random prize drawings featuring quality products from Schleese Saddlery. The official auction photographer will be Mel Argyle of Melspix Photo & Design. Ringmen and bid spotters will be Charles Stickler, Bob Groves and David McMurrer. Paul Cohen will serve as the settlement officer.
The auction will feature VIP tables of six for $550, which will include admission, an open bar, delicious buffet, preferred seating and a post-sale party with Wings of Sound. General admission will also be available for $25 in advance, or $35 at the door, and will include admission and an open bar.
