Saturday came to a close at the 2014 Markel/USEF Young & Developing Horse Dressage National Championships presented by HorseShow.com with 11 of the top junior dressage riders competing in the 2014 USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals 13 & Under division. Helen Claire McNulty (Holland, Mich.) traveled to Lamplight in hopes of capturing a National Title with her own Checkmate. McNulty and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding excelled throughout the rail work and pattern, which called for sitting trot, to score an impressive 92%. "I'm really pleased with how everything went today," said McNulty of her experience Saturday. "Everything felt really good when I rode, I'm super pleased. This has been a goal of mine to compete here, but I never really expected to win. I just wanted to come and compete and see the other top riders around the country. I'm so happy. I'm speechless."

Earning Reserve Championship honors with a score of 85% were Nia Kinney (Dallas, Texas) and Michael Huber's 13-year-old KWPN mare Biara G.
