With many people in town from around the country and internationally, the red carpet was rolled out by the management at the Palm Peach International Equestrian Center. Visitors from the frigid north did not complain about the chilly temperatures because chilly in Florida is nothing compared to what's going on in the northern US. Even our Euro friends expressed an appreciation for the overall climate difference.
Thanks to [#26523 override="Markel" title="Markel"], we have a lovely table overlooking the arena in the Equestrian Club and were joined by friends Louise Levesque, Michael Cabel, Susan Taves, Mary Phelps, and Ilanah Taves. Mary's husband JJ worked videotaping the clinic with Anky Van Grunsven.
Van Grunsven was a great sport about her ride earlier in the evening where she and Painted Black both has uncharacteristic performances, putting them at first out of tonight's line up for the Freestlye. Michael Barisone to the rescue, who declared he would ride in the Grand Prix Special, moving Anky up a notch and back into the line up.
