Hanoverian Stallion Picaro Passed Away


Paxton Farm's pride stallion Picaro passed away April 17, 2003. The chestnut sire who was registed for the Hanoverian Verband and American Hanoverian Society, was sixteen years old.

Picaro is by Picard out of Wicke (Wendelin x Windhuk) and was bred by Hans Karl Ehrhardt in Germany. Licensed in 1991 and performance tested at Adelheidsdorf, Picaro scored 111.15 points with a rideability score of 126.75.

The same year, Picaro was selected to represent the Hanoverian breed at the German Young Horse Championships in which he became Reserve Champion in the 4-year old division with a rideability score of 9.5. He has been a successful dressage competitor in the United States since 1993.

Paxton Farm will greatly miss their favorite stallion Picaro.
