Guenter Seidel High Percentage Champion at Dressage Holiday Special


The first weekend of December brought dressage excitement to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, California, with the delightful "Dressage Holiday Special" competition.

Grand Prix dressage rider Guenter Seidel became the High Percentage Champion at FEI level. On Saturday December 6, Seidel saddled his dapple grey Aragon for the Grand Prix and scored a winning 71.667%. He beat USET team mate Steffen Peters, who was aboard his newest Grand Prix hit Floriano.

Peters and Floriano reigned in Sunday's Grand Prix B test with 67.917%, defeating Seidel on Metropolitan. At Prix St Georges level, Peters won on Lorenz with 70.500%.

Junior Rider Donna Salazar performed well on Seidel's former Grand Prix horse Foltaire. With 66.750% (1st) in the Prix St Georges and a 62.250% (2nd) in the Intermediaire I, Salazar became FEI Jr/Am Highpoint champion.

Young Rider John Murrey was the strongest in the Intermediaire I. Aboard his steady mount Festival, he received 66.750% from judge Charlotte Bredahl and won the class.

Upper level high percentage champion was Oldenburg afficionado Jaye Cherry aboard Marta Kaufmann's beautiful Donnegal, a Donnerschwee x Grundstein II mare. Cherry dominated Saturday's Fourt Level test one and two with 66.279%.
