Wellington, FL — Two hunter riders at the Winter Equestrian Festival, Elena Barrick and Hunter Holloway, recently demonstrated that no matter how long a horse and rider have been a team, they can shine in the show ring with the proper care. Barrick’s and Holloway’s horses each won an Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award for their four-legged partners at the famed Winter Equestrian Festival this season, in recognition of their horses’ outstanding health, dispositions, and body conditions. Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals, the internationally popular manufacturer of all-natural equine health products, rewards horses at the Wellington, Florida showgrounds who exemplify the company’s priority of excellent equine health.
Harmonious Team in the Green Hunter Ring
Elena Barrick purchased her nine-year-old Oldenburg mare, Silvermoon 36, only five months ago, but the two are already a harmonious team in the Green Hunter 3’3” ring. “I love that when we get up to the jump, she just relaxes and comes up to me,” said Barrick. Omega Alpha knows that relaxed, cheerful horses are a telltale sign of quality horse care.
The company rewarded Barrick and Silvermoon 36 with a collection of Omega Alpha health supplements, a Healthy Horse Award ribbon, and a fly scrim after their trip around the ring. With her new horse and even newer horse health products, Barrick has her goals set on higher jumps in the weeks to come. “We did the 3’3” Greens today, and I’m hoping by the end of the season we’ll have her in the 3’6” Juniors. Today’s ride was really good; she was perfect! I’m excited to try the Omega Alpha products.”
Homebred Ruby Tuesday Following in Her Father's Hoofsteps
In the nearby Green Hunter 3’6” ring, Hunter Holloway was showing the product of her own horse care on a horse that she’s had for a much longer time. “Her name is Ruby Tuesday. She’s seven years old, and we bred her ourselves,” Holloway said of the mare owned by Hays Investment Corp. Based on the success of Ruby Tuesday’s parents, it’s no surprise that her impressively athletic body condition stood out to Omega Alpha. “Ruby Tuesday is out of Any Given Sunday, who’s the stallion I won Washington Finals and the Maclay Finals on, and her mom was my mom’s old Grand Prix horse,” Holloway explained.
Holloway and Ruby Tuesday are no stranger to Omega Alpha products, as they were introduced to the products while competing at the Colorado Horse Park show series in Parker, Colorado over the summer. “We got to try some of their products then, and I’m excited to try more of their products now,” said Holloway as she accepted the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award.
