Young rider Marina Aframeeva riding Zorro won the qualifier of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage series in Moscow region last weekend. Ukrainian Sergey Puzko produced a nice test with Kompliment to slot into second place, while winner of Grand-Prix Ksenia Morozkina and Lady Lux finished third.
The victory in Moscow became the final accord in very successful season for Marina Aframeeva. She provided the best result of the Russian young riders at the European Championships at Kronberg (Germany) in July.
The horses under Marina’s saddle include the 11 year old Trakhener gelding Jazz and the 16 year old Ukrainian Warmblood Zorro. Zorro used to be competed by Inessa Porturaeva. The international dressage rider Inessa Poturaeva passed Zorro over to Marina and is also training her.
The partnership between runner-up Sergey Puzko and his Trakhener gelding Kompliment started just two months before the event when the horse was purchased for the 24 year old rider. Kompliment changed owners and also his nationality. Since 2006 Kompliment was competed by Russian rider Larisa Bushina.
The winner of of the World Cup qualifier earlier in Russia in June this year, Ksenia Morozikina riding Lady Lux, didn’t reach higher then third place. She is trained by Olympic champion Victor Ugrumov.
Riders from three countries competed at the event which was held in charming private equestrian club in outskirts of Moscow. Fresh but sunny weather was perfect for competitors and horses.
