The Gold Coast Opener, January 21-23, 2005 promises to kick off the dressage circuit with a bang! The show is also the official Region 4 USDF Qualifying Competition for the 2005 North American Young Rider’s Championship.
The three star upgrade did not go unnoticed as 33 Entries will be competing at the first CDI of the season! Couple that with an additional 200 Open entries and the four rings will be filled with the buzz and excitement of dressage in Florida. A sneak peek at the dressage royalty on the day sheets and one would agree that the Opener would surely be a spectator’s delight. In addition to a spectacular rider roster, spectators will enjoy shopping throughout the show grounds. Vendors include Euro-American Saddlery, A’Dashi, Forge Hill Sculpture, Diane Sascer, (there are more, I’m waiting for the list)
The Gold Coast Dressage Association is determined to stand out from the crowd in their generosity. Local businesses have donated additional awards not in the prize list. Raymond James and Noreen O‘Sullivan are sponsoring wool dress coolers for the CDI winners. The Adult Amateurs will enjoy special trophies from Forge Hill Sculpture. Smart Pak Equine is sponsoring the Opener with Performance Paks, saddle pads, and sample paks for ALL competitors. But it doesn’t stop there! When you receive your bridle numbers and goody bag, there will also be an invitation to the competitor’s party. This is the first bash hosted by the Gold Coast Dressage Association and Janne Rumbough. Not only will attendees enjoy cocktails and a buffet, but will also have a chance to bid on some interesting items at the silent auction. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross on behalf of the tsunami victims. In other words, we can show, party, and be Humanitarians all in one weekend! But it doesn’t stop there!
Markel Insurance is sponsoring a reception at the CDI Jog on Thursday afternoon. Riders should be sure to dress to the nines because A’Dashi is sponsoring awards for male and female “best dressed” at the jog.
They say that if you can show at Stadium Jumping, you can show anywhere. Please join us for an outstanding turnout at the Gold Coast Opener Festival, located at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club.
