Kreuth - On the last day of the NRHA (National Reining Horse Association) European Futurity, the day opened with the last of the full-slate ancillary classes offered.
Prior to the European Open Futurity finals, three champions were crowned. In a field of 29 entries, Gina Maria Schumacher and Gotta Nifty Gun (Spook Gotta Gun x Custom Nifty Nic), owned by Chanay Sky Management SA, thrilled the crowd and the judges with their performance.
A 222.5 appeared on the score board once she had closed her last maneuver. “He’s just as special as ever,” said the young rider from Germany who conquered the 2016 NRHA European Non Pro Level 4 Futurity championship last night.
Second place honors, with a 214.5, went to the 2015 NRHA Non Pro Reserve Champions Piet Mestdagh Reining Whiz (Topsail Whiz x Rush N Cat). A half a point behind, Steve Vannietvelt and Nic Ricochet (Ricochet Rooster x Minnie Nic) closed in third place.
