41-year-old Ulla Sazlgeber from Bad Worishofen became the new German Dressage Champion for female riders in Balve, Germany. With her gelding Rusty she rode to a 83.89% kur to music winning the test with brilliance. After her victory in the Grand Prix and Speciale, Salzgeber earned to a grand total of 239.69 percentage points. Second was Heike Kemmer from Winsen on her Oldenburg gelding Albano (by Argentinus) who rode an 80.82% freestyle and added up a total of 228.95 percentage points. Third place went to Isabell Werth and Agnelli FRH who scored 221.91 points in total. Her kur received 78.24% and placed her fifth.
Bad luck for Nadine Capellmann on Gracioso who had to retire during her freestyle even though she was on her way to placing third.
New German Dressage Champion in the male riders class is Michael Klimke on White Foot. The late Dr Reiner Klimke's son seems to be back in the big time and scored 79.61% in his freestyle putting him on a third position. His grand total was 226.14 points. Second was Hubertus Schmidt on his first horse My Fair Lady NRW. His freestyle got 78.51%. Third place was Rudolf Zeilinger on his Hanoverian Livinjo.
