, Grand Prix Dressage Rider/Trainer
Elizabeth has enjoyed partnerships with many truly spectacular horses. She has developed many talented horses to ride and show through the years. While it is difficult to have a favorite, three horses stand out in her experience: Grendel, a Westphalian gelding, who was a big Teddy Bear, carried her through many Fourth Level and Prix St. Georges tests; Florencio was brilliant at Third Level and returned to the ring to win after a serious training rehabilitation; and Luxus, a Dutch Warmblood gelding, was particularly consistent in the small tour.
Luxus – A Luxury Ride
One of her all-time favorites was the handsome Dutch gelding, Luxus Rossini out of Gravurose. Never known to be an easy horse, Luxus could give a show-stopping performance when asked in just the right way. Elizabeth unlocked his secrets early on and enjoyed great success with the head-turning gelding. Elizabeth campaigned Luxus to earn several high scores and victories in the Prix St. Georges at King Oak Dressage Days. He went on to do equally well in the Prix St. Georges at the East Coast Riders Cup at NEDA Centerline Events at Ox Ridge.
Top placing young horse Relevant Couture aced her Training Level Test 4 with a 74% score at Windy Hollow Dressage.
Relevant Couture– (Relevant out of St. Pre. Anschari) The Gorgeous Liver Chestnut Mare – SOLD to Carol Satriano
Elizabeth’s lovely Danish Warmblood gelding was very successful at Third Level, scoring 73% in Test 3 during the NEDA Dressage Show.
The Fabulous Florencio (Florestan 1 out of Lobella) – SOLD to Belgium
Elizabeth campaigned Florencio, a seven-year-old Dutch gelding Warmblood owned by Robert and Christina Baker of Greenwich, Connecticut, prior to his sale.
Russo (Rubioso N out of St. Pr. St Hauptstutbuch Donna), owned by Christina Baker, is a black Oldenburg gelding with four flashy white socks and a white blaze. He has been bringing home all the blue ribbons with high scores of 72% and 73% in Training Level in Florida. These were Russo's first dressage shows. He has already done what it takes to be a top contender for his amateur/owner rider.
A handsome bay KWPN gelding that Elizabeth imported two years ago, Sting (Peter Pan out of Nanci) was a successful competitor at Third Level in Florida last season and over the summer. Elizabeth has moved Sting up to the Prix St. Georges to qualify him for USDF Regional Championships as well as the prestigious Dressage at Devon – his first CDI competition. Elizabeth is extremely excited about this talented gelding.
Kosmos is a beautiful gray Grand Prix prospect that Elizabeth found in Germany for Joe and Dawn Bernardo. “Kosmos already has quite the fan club,” Elizabeth says. “Kosmos is one of the kindest horses I’ve ever had the pleasure to train.”
Kosmos had a super small record from Europe and Elizabeth recently started him in his first Grand Prix classes this summer. “He was such a good boy – an absolute pleasure to compete,” Elizabeth noted.
