Renowned dressage trainer and judge Peter Storr taught at the Dressage4Kids FEI Pony Clinic May 25-27 at Hilltop Farm in Maryland. Jordan Osborne shares her experiences from the weekend:
The weekend clinic for FEI ponies with Peter Storr was without a doubt one of the best couple days of my life. On Friday, Peter worked with my pony Cinderella and me on just being soft with each other. We did a lot to get Ella to stretch down and get her back swinging in her warmup, and wow did that help later in my ride!
Saturday was even better, as I came prepared to warmup Ella the best I could, and so once I got to my lesson we were able to go much further and work on other things.
On Sunday, Peter really addressed how much Ella wanted to be flat with her poll too low, and he helped me work on that for a result nothing like I had ever felt on Ella.
All three days were just amazing, and Ella was superb dealing with the new, harder work that as a pony mare she normally would have taken great offense to. The whole weekend could not have happened without Hilltop Farm letting us invade, it is a beautiful facility, and we were so privileged to be able to ride there. I had a bunch of fun hanging out with my fellow pony wranglers from along the coast I never get to see, too! It was just a fantastic weekend in all aspects.
