Jocelyn Wiese - Student/Rider/Trainer

There is no question that Lamborghini, a 14-year old Danish Warmblood Gelding (Michellino x Abbey Row, Dam sire-Cannon Row) was the equine partner who under the guidance of trainer Pam Goodrich propelled her into notoriety, but in her lifetime she has learned from many horses starting with her first pony when she was 3 years old. “I’ve had Lamborghini aka “Zoomie” since I was 16 and he has taken me up through the Young Rider ranks and on to Grand Prix. While extremely talented, he is also a very hot and sensitive horse. He has taught me to be a very thoughtful rider and has always kept me on my toes.” While the hightlight of their career to date has been winning the prestigious Brentina Cup, the pair has put in a solid season at Grand Prix, and looks forward to more in 2011.

A native of Keene, NH, Jocelyn got her first pony when she was 3 years old. In pony club, a chestnut pony mare with a naughty streak when jumping led turned her toward dressage. “I did some dressage shows and then attended Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival in 1999, the first year it was held. After that I was hooked!” About a year later, she acquired a dressage pony from Lendon Gray, which propelled her forward. “Since then dressage has been my life.”

Chopin, a Dutch Warmblood Gelding (Daimler x Bella Donna), who came through Lendon, gave Jocelyn her first taste of the FEI arena and they competed at both the 2005 USEF Junior team championships and the NAYRC in 2006.

At 14.2 hands, Popeye, a 2002 Westfalen Pony Stallion (FS Pour l'Amour x Night Star I x Nobel) owned by Summit Sporthorses. “I had the opportunity to ride and show Popeye while I worked at Hilltop and he strengthened my love of riding dressage ponies.”
