Former international team rider Sandy Phillips-Pflueger has stepped down from her role as a British Dressage senior selector. Phillips has chosen for an active competition career this year and wants to be considered for selection herself. As it poses a conflict of interest, Philips decided to resign as selector for the British Dressage teams.

Phillips and her 12-year old Rhinelander mare Lara (by Lanciano) have been selected to take part in the CDIO Saumur, 26 – 30 April 2006, and will look to compete in more international dressage competitions throughout the summer. Sandy Pflueger is an American born equestrian who married Captain Mark Phillips in 1997. She took on the British nationality already in 1996 and was a reserve member on the 1996 British Olympic team and a team member at the 1999 European Dressage Championships aboard Fun. She also competed No Limit, Lindor and Lara at international FEI level.
