The CDI-W Lipica has become Wayne Channon's favourite show, winning the outdoor World Cup Qualifier for the second year in a row. Aboard his KWPN stallion Lorenzo CH (by Ferro x Wolfgang), Channon won the Grand Prix with 67.000% and the Kur to Music with 73.300%. It was a huge victory only one week after Channon's 3-year old stallion Zenon (by Rousseau x Whinny Jackson) got fully KWPN licensed after finishing third at the KWPN Stallion Performance Test in Ermelo, The Netherlans. Belarussian Iryna Lis and her bay glding Problesk, the combination who held Wayne from a third consecutive Lipica win in 2005, placed second in the kur this year with 70.600%. (View Scores)
Bundeschampionate Qualifiers in Full Swing
The German dressage scene is currently dominated by several young horse selection trials, where German bred horses can qualify for the 2007 Bundeschampionate, the German Young Horse Championships held in Warendorf, Germany in September.
The Bundeschampionate qualifiers continue after a break from selection trials last weekend. Danone II and Satchmo H were the winners at the qualifier at Petra Wilm's Gestut Tasdorf in Schleswig-Holstein. In the 5-year old division, young rider Theresa Wahler scored the highest mark aboard the licensed Hanoverian stallion Danone II (by De Niro x Weltmeyer). The pair received 8.12. The 6-year old division was won by Sonja Marie Ellerbrock aboard the Hanoverian Satchmo H (by Sandro Hit x Galvano). They topped the leader board with 8.56. (View Scores)
A huge Bundeschampionate qualifier was held at the regional dressage and show jumping show in Isernhagen, Germany. The 5-year old division was split into two groups of which the winners were Don Auriello and Weitsicht, while Riccio was the winner in the 6-year old division. Birgit Wellhausen-Henschke and Don Auriello scored the highest mark of all 5-year olds. Henschke received 8.8 for her ride on Klaus Ehlen's Hanoverian stallion (by Don Davidoff x White Star). In the 6-year old division, the Westfalian licensed stallion Riccio (by Riccionze) was the winner. Under Martin Stamkotter, the dark bay stallion scored 8.8 and beat Dr. Ulf Möller on Fine Time (by Florestan x Weinberg) with 0.2 point difference. (View Scores)
Weltclassicer and Sancisco were the winners of the Bundeschampionate Qualifier in Prussendorf, Germany. Under the Spanish Juan Manuel Vidal, Weltclassicer (by Wolkentanz) scored 8.6 and won the 5-year old division. In the 6-year old division, Ronald Luders and the Kempke Hof owned stallion Sancisco (by Sandro Hit x Rohdiamant) scored the highest mark. The pair received 8.6 from the judges and beat Julia Voigtländer on Laetition (by Lord Sinclair) who ranked second with 8.4. (View Scores)
