Schufro Hit and Krake became the Champions of the 2006 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning, Denmark. The committee took no risks by awarding Schufro Hit the title. The bay Sandro Hit x Don Schufro x Inschallah AA colt, which is owned and bred by Blue Hors, was the crowd favourite with his extravagantly supple trot, but the horse did not have a good walk.
Naming Krake the best show jumping colt of the licensing was very correct. Krake (by Krunch de Breve) has a lovely conformation, a decent movement mechanism and fantastic jumping potential with much scope and stretch in the body. Krake is bred by Niels Hausgaard and he sold at the licensing to Stutteri Ask, virtually the show jumping division of Blue Hors Stud.
Michellino has been proclaimed Danish Warmblood Stallion of the Year 2006 at the licensing in Herning, Denmark. The Stallion of the Year award is always kept very secret and when it was announced that the 15-year old Elite Stallion Michellino became the winner, the crowds went wild at the Herning Messecenter.
Born in The Netherlands, Michellino is by Michelangelo out of Claudette (Ulft x Lector) and is owned by Per Vintersboelle from Aars, Denmark. Michellino was licensed in Denmark in 1994 and currently has more than 1000 registered offspring. He sired two licensing champions -- Milan and Matinique -- and many more licensed sons.
Best "foreign" 4-year old stallion was the Hanoverian Damsey, a Dressage Royal x Rubinstein offspring owned by Doug and Louise Leatherdale from the U.S.A. and standing at stud at Jens Meyer's in Dorum, Germany. Damsey is a big dark bay stallion having a quite compact conformation. His biggest forté is without a doubt his walk. Damsey has a very large, relaxed and ground covering walk with large overstep.
