Euro Update: Ampere, 2008 KWPN Licensing Champion, Sold to the U.S.A.

Ampere, the 2008 KWPN Licensing Champion has been sold to Fritz Kundrun from the U.S.A. The 3-year old bay stallion by Rousseau x Flemmingh is bred by A.T. Rensen and was owned by the Dutch syndicate consisting of Nico Witte, Tamerus Beheer and Reesink Horses.

Fritz Kundrun is a renowned owner of top dressage horses such as the U.S. medal winning team horse Flim Flam (competed by Susan Blinks). Half a year ago, he acquired the Hanoverian licensed stallion Roosevelt (by Rotspon) through Reesink Horses and now he purchased Ampere. The young stallion will stay in The Netherlands for further training and will only come to the U.S.A. once he hits FEI level.

Ampere is the third consecutive KWPN licensing champion which has sold abroad. In 2006, Wamberto (by Rousseau x Volaire) sold to Harmony Sporthorses in the U.S.A. In 2007, licensing champion Zack (by Rousseau x Jazz) sold to Blue Hors Stud in Denmark.

Record Prices at 2008 Danish Warmblood Elite Foal Auction

The Danish Warmblood society never expected that the record prices achieved at last year's auction would be broken so quickly. The 2008 Danish Warmblood Elite Foal Auction in Vilhelmsborg, Denmark, Saturday September 6, 2008, shattered all previous records. The top selling foal was Møllegardens Attention, which sold for 68,000 euro or half a million Danish Kroner.

The buyer of the top priced foal was no surprise client. Møllegardens Attention (by Abanos x Bøgelys Camaro x Loran) sold to Tailermade Horse, directed by the Dane Per Skærbæk but owned and funded by a Norwegian lady. The black colt is bred by Lone Christiansen.

Blue Hors Stud acquired the most expensive filly and third highest priced foal at the auction. Blue Hors owner Kjell Kirk Kristiansen purchased Jan and Karina Koefoed Nielsen's chestnut filly Jakas Lucienne (by Don Romantic x Lauries Crusador xx x Akzent II) for 44,000 euro. (Read More)

Rubin Royal and Rubin Cortes Move to Silvia Ikle's Stables

The Oldenburg breeding stallions Rubin Royal and his 7-year old son Rubin Cortes have moved to Silvia Ikle's stables. Owner Harli Seifert is downsizing her stallion station in Loningen, Germany, and is securing the dressage training of her two dressage stallions by sending them to Switzerland.

Rubin Royal is by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II and descends from the famous Rudilore mareline. The Grand Prix level trained dark bay stallion has four licensed full brothers, including Blue Hors Romanov. Rubin Cortes was the 2003 Oldenburg reserve licensing champion. He was bred in Luxembourg and is by Rubin Royal x Calmiro.

Harli Seifert has decided to give up her stallion station and only focus on breeding. In 2005, Hendrik Lochthowe took over the ride on Rubin Royal from Dieter Weichert as in-house rider for Harli Seifert. Seifert's two stallions, as well as Lochthowe himself, are based at Silvia Ikle's stable in Niederhasli, Switzerland, since September 1, 2008. (Read More)
