Hester and Dujardin Win During Week Two of the 2010 Sunshine Tour

Hester and Dujardin have continued their winning ways in the second week of the Spanish Sunshine Tour, at Vejer de la Frontera in Spain 9-14 March 2010. Under the now sunny skies, these British competitors bested previous scores and set the tone for the third and final week. Carl Hester led the way again with Sasha Stewart's 9-year old Dutch warmblood Uthopia (by Metall) scoring a whopping 75.29% in the horse's second ever Grand Prix Special on Sunday. Carl and his stallion picked up 73.02% in Saturday’s Grand Prix, an improvement again from last week’s win on 71.10%.
"The second week Uthopia was more confident all around,” said Carl. “He was really on the button in the special and to get 75% is phenomenal, especially as it’s a new PB for me and it’s only his second ever special.”  Carl's stable rider Charlotte Dujardin  also enjoyed a successful second week, winning the PSG on Mrs Luard's Valegro (by Negro). The pair scored 73.59% to beat 37 competitors in total. Charlotte and Valegro also topped the field in the Intermediate I with 71.75%.

Top Dressage Team Discusses Judging in an Evening Debate

The French dressage association Top Dressage Team is organizing an evening debate on the topic of judging with national judges (Bernard Maurel), officials of the French Equestrian Federation and of the Rhone Alpes region (Nadine Cochenet, Alain Franqueville), as well as riders (Catherine Haddad) and show organizers attending. Top Dressage Team has invited CERN physicist David Stickland as keynote speaker to this event which will take place in the historic town of Pérouges, France, on 29 March 2010 at 19h30. Stickland will present his statistical analysis of the judging system, which he made in assignment of the FEI and which was featured at the 2009 Global Dressage Forum. His findings should make us better understand current judging and make progress in today's judging system.
