The Eastern States Dressage and Combined Training Association is proud to present its third annual Competitors, Trainers, Judges Symposium at the US Equestrian Team Headquarters in Gladstone, NJ at the Nautical Hall Indoor arena. Featured speakers are international rider and trainer, Betsy Steiner and FEI I judge, Anne Gribbons.
Demonstration riders will be guided by Betsy and Anne through the US national levels as well as the FEI levels. Betsy will focus on how rider position influences the training of the horse and Janet will review judging methodology and what judges look for through the levels.
The symposium will be an interactive program with encouragement of open discussion among auditors and speakers. Competitors will discover how to improve their riding for the show ring. Judges in attendance will have an opportunity to “judge” movements and gaits and use the symposium as a further education forum. Trainers will be able to learn new exercises for horse and rider and contribute their own ideas and techniques. All in attendance will discuss how trainers and judges can better communicate to improve the sport as a whole and exchange thoughts on how to further the education of judges, trainers and competitors.
The registration fee is $75,which includes lunch. The symposium is approved for USDF University credit. For pre-registration and an application go the ESDCTA website www.esdcta.org or contact Lisa Schmidt at Crisismgt@aol.com or 201 837-9440.
