Equifest I & II at Lamplight Equestrian Center Not to Be Missed

Wayne, IL - July 17, 2013 - The team at Lamplight Equestrian Center is making preparations to host the annual Equifest I, July 24-28 and Equifest II July 31- August 4 The two weeks of "AA"- rated competition is the highlight of the Chicago area summer equestrian calendar and will offer a full array of hunter and jumper classes, hospitality and fun. The beautiful park-like facility has made many improvements recently, including the installation of top-of-the-line GGT footing in many of the competition arenas.

Highlights of the show include $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby and the $35,000.00 Prix de Lamplight Grand Prix will be offered each week. Also offered are a $5,000.00 1.40m Open Jumper class and a $5,000.00 Welcome Class. Equifest will also feature a $7,500.00 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur Owner Classic each week.

For more than 50 years, Lamplight Equestrian Center has been a well-known competition destination. Recently purchased by Nina Koloseike, Lamplight Equestrian Center more than $1 million in improvements have been made, including improving drainage and upgrading many of the existing arenas with European GGT footing.

Lamplight has permanent stabling for 350 horses and permanent base installations for nine stabling tents, giving it a total capacity of 1200 stalls, all with water, cement wash racks and electricity.

The facility has hosted the American Eventing Championships, the Markel/USEF National Young Horse Dressage Championships and the U.S. Para- Equestrian National Championships.
