After the first part of the Young Riders Team Competition at the European Championships in Berne (SUI) today, the German Team, with their two riders Florine Kienbaum on Don Windsor and Luisa Lüttgen with Habitus took the lead of the Team Ranking after the first half with a total of 143.710 points. The Netherlands and Great Britain are in second and third position. Switzerland was brought to a remarkable fifth place (129.921) by the two team members Anthea Hartmann (Rubinario) and Sabrina Ackerman (Flint Star). Unfortunately Sophie Aiko Müller dropped out of the Competition after her horse Laser II injured himself in the stable. So the Swiss Young Riders Team has to go on with only three team riders.
The first part of the Juniors Team Competition at the Juniors ended with a German victory as well. Vivian Scheve realized with Bellheim a score of 72 541%. Together with the 70
216% of fourth-placed Maxi-Kira von Platen on Flamenco Girl, the German Team took the leader position in the team ranking of Day 1. Just like their elder compatriots at the Young Riders, The Dutch took second place with a nice second position for Antpinette te Riele riding Ziggy and scoring .The Danes are third after the first half of the cpometitors.
Yesterday a nice opening and welcome was organised for all 22 nations. the young participants from marched into the dressage arena with balloons in their national colours, which they let fly into the sky above Berne.
