Lexington, Kentucky - Once again Dubarry of Ireland, maker of equestrian and outdoor footwear, will be adding a touch of fashion and style to the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, presented by Bridgestone.
During this year's Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, part of the HSBC FEI ClassicsTM Series, in Lexington, KY, April 22-25, Dubarry of Ireland again be sponsoring awards for the best dress female and male competitors during the First Horse Inspection. Winners of the awards will be announced at Spindletop later that same evening.
The First Horse Inspection takes place on Wednesday, prior to the opening Dressage phase of competition on Thursday. Competitors present their horses, in hand, for the Inspection Committee, composed of the three members of the Ground Jury and the Veterinary Delegate, to inspect for general condition, soundness and fitness. Horses are presented in immaculate form with glistening coats and sparkling tack. The award for winning the best dressed title at the First Horse Inspection is a pair of Dubarry boots, which will be awarded to one male and one female competitor.
In addition, Dubarry of Ireland will also be dressing Tara Ziegler for the Inspection. Tara will be competing at Rolex on her horse Buckingham Place, and will present her horse at the First Horse Inspection dressed in Dubarry attire (however she will not be eligible to win the best dressed award). Tara's outfit will serve as a highly anticipated preview of Dubarry's launch of its Fall 2010 clothing collection in the U.S. She will be wearing the Yarrow jacket with the Buttercup shorts, both in Dubarry's own Connacht Meadow tweed, together with Dubarry's Chamomile ruffle shirt and a pair of iconic Dubarry Galway boots.
For those interested in having a chance to add a pair of Dubarry boots to their personal wardrobe, Dubarry will also be sponsoring a USEF photographic competition hosted through their website, ClubEquestrian.com.
"During the Event, those in attendance will be encouraged to snap and submit their favorite photo, for a chance to win a pair of Dubarry's famous boots," said Scott Carling, USEF Managing Director, Sales & Sponsorships. "This will be promoted through signage on-site at the USEF's tent; through postcards which give contest details (including a photo of the Dubarry boots) to be handed out on site; through an e-blast to all ClubEquestrian.com members; and through social networking means, on the USEF's Facebook page, which boasts in excess of 13,000 fans already."
