Nellie Gail Ranch in Laguna Hills, CA is pleased to welcome top Dressage trainer Kenn Acebal to the staff of the equestrian facility. Kenn joined Nellie Gail Ranch in November.
Kenn looks forward to offering Dressage training to Nellie Gail Ranch homeowners, and to customers coming from elsewhere in the area. He will offer several different packages ranging from individual lessons to full training and care.
"I love training amateurs and juniors that want to advance in their riding for enjoyment," Kenn stated, "as well as working with the serious dressage rider who wants to progress from the training to the international Grand Prix level."
When most people think of Acebal, they also think of his partner in dressage, Lennox, a 12 year-old Westfalien gelding. Lennox will accompany Kenn to Nellie Gail Ranch. Known affectionately as 'Le Ox', Lennox is one of the best-known dressage horses in the world. In 1998, Acebal loaned Lennox to the U.S. Equestrian Team for Robert Dover to ride in the World Equestrian Games, where they finished in sixth place.
In 1999, Kenn and Lennox spent the year in training with Olympic Gold Medalist Anky van Grunsven and trainer Sjef Jensen in The Netherlands. They then showed successfully throughout Europe and finished sixth in the Grand Prix in Rome, Italy.
Returning to the U.S. in 2000, Kenn and Lennox captured the USDF Region 3 Grand Prix Championship. In 2001, the pair won the USET Grand Prix Freestyle at the Heidelberg Cup in Orlando, Florida with a score of 68.9%. That same year, Kenn and Lennox were invited to perform at the American Invitational in Tampa, Florida.
Kenn was also instrumental in the early training of Peron, an equine member of the 1996 Olympic Bronze medal winning U.S. squad. Kenn trained Peron for six years up through Grand Prix level.
