The Grand Prix Dressage Championships in September may include superstars Steffen Peters and Catherine Haddad! Speaking of Gladstone, where the Championships are held, reflect back over the past 100 years of history at this historic site of the USET headquarters. Hampton Green Farm will host the first ever Lendon Youth Dressage Festival held in the Midwest. Check out the record number of horses that have qualified for the 2011 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Dressage to be held in Verden, Germany. California is the place to be this weekend for the greatest amount of dressage action! We have the Capistrano Summer Series in San Juan Capistrano, the Dressage Derby IV in Vacaville, Gavilan Chapter June in San Juan Bautista, Dressage at Mission Pacific in Somis, Cascade Chapter ODS Dressage in Tulelake, Steppin' into Summer II in West Covina and last but not least the Midsummer Night's Dressage I in Watsonville. Whew! In Washington state there are several show to choose from as well with the Donida Farm Solstice Dressage in Auburn, Letter Perfect Dressage in Ridgefield, Whidbey Equestrian Center June Dressage in Coupeville and Dressage In The Park in Olympia. The PVDA Ride For Life in Upper Marlboro, MD takes place benefitting cancer research. In the midwest we have the IDCTA Summer Kickoff Dressage Show in Wayne, IL, Sorensen Equestrian Park Dressage June III in East Troy, WI, June Dressage at Copper Creek in Williamston, MI and Dressage Lite in Mason City, IA. The south and west are pretty quiet this week with only the NCDCTA Summer Highland Fling in Tryon, NC and the Autumn Hill Dressage Festival I in Longmont, CO.

The Grand Prix Dressage Championships to be held September 8-11 in Gladstone, NJ could prove to be caulked full of top talent! Steffen Peters will be coming to Gladstone to make a bid for this years Pan American Games with Weltino's Magic and will likely be bringing Ravel along as well! Catherine Haddad is also trying to put together the funding to bring over both Winyamaro and Cadillac to compete at Gladstone and both riders have expressed interest in competing at Dressage at Devon! The beautiful Hampton Green Farm will play host to the first ever Lendon Youth Dressage Festival held in the Midwest. The original Youth Dressage Festival, held in New york, is highly popular drawing over 250 youth riders from as far as Canada and South America. The midwest event will also hold the first regional "Section A" Clinic for the new Emerging Dressage Athlete Program, both events to be held during the weekend of August 5-7. Get all the info here!

The U.S. has qualified a record number of horses for the 2011 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Dressage to be held August 3-7 in Verden, Germany! Seven horses qaulified - three on U.S. soil and four earning the neccessary scores in Europe. The U.S. will field a team of four horses made up by two 5-year-olds and two 6-year-olds. Check out who will be competing for a spot on the team!

Anyone who has been lucky enough to have attended a high level USET event at the gorgeous Hamilton Farm in Gladstone, NJ can attest to the beauty and history that surround the facility. While the prestigious farm had a humble beginning in 1911, it has been the headquarters to the USET since 1961 hosting such great events as the Festival of Champions. Prior to the Alltech World Equestrian Games, the U.S. Dressage Team held their final training sessions at Gladstone, continuing the tradition. Read More Here!

Eurodressage.com in co-operation with World Dressage Masters has created a special "World Dressage Masters' Test Your Freestyle Knowledge" quiz that Eurodressage will present in three installments over the summer. Each quiz will produce a "Queen or King of Freestyle" who will not only have bragging rights but will win two prizes, one being an autographed t-shirt from Matthias Rath and a 40x60 cm poster from Eurodressage's photo database! So, what does it take to care for the 51 touring equines that make up the fantastic equine-human production Cavalia? How about a team of 20 humans who clean, feed, excercise and, of course, groom their charges daily! A lot of pampering is also a daily requirement and great care goes into how the horses relate to one another. Read more here!

Stomach ulcers are becoming more common place with our domesticated horses due to both the physical and emotional stress that todays horses undergo. While there has never been one case of ulcers in wild horses, 1 out of 5 racehorses at the track have developed them. Why do some horses develope ulcers and others do not?
