The Dressage Foundation’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of a new Grant Fund to provide financial assistance to para-equestrian dressage riders. Donations to establish the Fund include a generous gift from the Lowell Boomer Family Charitable Remainder Unitrust.
The purpose of the Para-Equestrian Dressage Fund is to provide financial support for para-dressage riders to attend educational events, such as clinics at the USEF/USPEA Para-Equestrian Centers of Excellence (COE). One goal of the Fund is to reach and help grassroots and lower-level riders. As the Fund grows, future grants may also be available for instructors of para-dressage riders.
“This Para-Equestrian Dressage Fund has been in the works for a long time so we're especially excited to see it up and running soon,” said Beth Baumert, TDF President and CEO. “As the details develop, we hope that donors will find this as exciting as we do. As always, TDF tries to help people at the grassroots as well as at the top, and this Fund will follow suit.”
“USEF is extremely appreciative and excited about the development of TDF’s Para-Equestrian Dressage Grant Fund,” shared Laureen Johnson, USEF’s Para-Equestrian Director. “With the official launch of the USEF Para-Dressage Coach Certificate Program at the USEF/USPEA COEs, the timing couldn’t be better to offer the athletes an opportunity to apply for funding through The Dressage Foundation to assist with expenses to attend the educational programs provided by the COE.”
Hope Hand, President of the United States Para-Equestrian Association, said, “Thank you, TDF, for this great opportunity to spotlight Para-Dressage along with the well-established dressage grant programs the Foundation has supported over the years. Including Para Dressage under the Foundation's umbrella shows how Para Dressage is truly "Paralleled" in every phase. These grants will help afford and encourage more riders to learn and enjoy the sport of Para-Dressage.”
To ensure that grants are available for many years, The Dressage Foundation is organizing an online auction this summer to benefit the Para-Equestrian Dressage Fund. TDF is seeking donations of goods or services, and a variety of items are welcome! Please contact Jenny Johnson at (402)434-8585 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to participate in the auction or would like to make a cash or stock donation directly to TDF’s Para-Equestrian Dressage Grant Fund.
